Punta Cana Hotel
ADVERTISEMENT
Punta Cana is often described as
one of the most beautiful areas of the Dominican Republic, with its palm
tree lined landscape, golden white beaches and lively resorts that bring
the area to life. The area's great climate and stunning countryside make
it a dream come true for holidaymakers. Finding a Punta Cana hotel is
easy, with so many great hotels and resorts to choose from.
There is no typical Punta Cana hotel here as every resort or guesthouse
is different. You can happily pamper yourself with 5 star luxury hotels
with their large modern designs and plenty of facilities, or be just as
comfortable in a lively 3 star guesthouse with great locations and a
variety of activities close by. The larger hotels are stylish and
modern, often with their own private section of beach for guests to use
and plenty of bars, outdoor pools and Jacuzzi's to entertain their
guests. Resorts are generally all inclusive so their restaurants and
bars cater for all their guests. You will find plenty of dining options
each with fantastic menus, usually incorporating local dishes as well as
international favorites. Entertainment is important in these resorts and
you will find there is plenty to see in the evenings that will keep
everyone happy. Many hotels and resorts have their own casino on site,
well-stocked gift shops and lively bars where the cocktails and beers
keep flowing.
Punta Cana is a well-known business area so most hotels cater for
business and leisure travelers alike. The larger hotels provide good
event spaces and can provide entertainment and activities for a work
based function. You can generally guarantee that hotels provide Internet
access and satellite TV, with good business services should you need
them.
At the other end of the scale you could choose a Punta Cana hotel that
has a more relaxed feel and isn't so large. The smaller hotels still
offer the high levels of service that you find in their larger
counterparts and often make great use of their locations, being close to
local attractions or having access to a wide range of outdoor
activities. Again, you will find good food and a vast selection of
cocktails and local beers and spirits. Smaller hotels can often have a
unique feel, with specially designed rooms and guest areas. Hotels are
often housed in old style buildings, recently renovated to offer their
guests up to date facilities in historic surroundings.
One thing every Punta Cana hotel has in common is that it is near a
gorgeous beach and if one beach isn't enough simply take a stroll along
the shoreline to find plenty of white sand and beautiful vistas. The
Dominican Republic is known for its natural beauty, which can be found
everywhere. Head out to Dolphin Island, a man made island where you can
swim with dolphins, or explore the jungle with a tour through tropical
flora at the Ecological Reserve. If you prefer a bit more action take
advantage of the local water sports. The area specializes in snorkeling,
scuba diving, windsurfing and parasailing.
For those who want to stay out of the water you can hire a jeep, beach
buggy or four-wheel bike and take a safari tour, or go horseback riding
along the shoreline. Golf is also popular here, so if you enjoy a stroll
down the fairway, you can choose from over seven golf courses in the
area.
For those who like retail therapy you will find many hotels have gift
shops on site and vendors will often bring their goods to you at your
hotel. There are also two open-air shopping plazas in the area, offering
silver and handmade goods, cigars, rum and ceramics.
The area boasts a lively nightlife with the evening starting just before
midnight. Most hotels have entertainment available in house but there
are also many bars and discos that are also popular with the locals. If
you prefer a quiet meal you will be spoiled for choice with the local
restaurants. Choose a formal restaurant where you can enjoy filet mignon
or fresh lobster, or go for something laid back and try the national
dish, la bandera. Menus are unique and diverse, often inspired by
Spanish and French cultures.
